I cannot recommend Danielle/Sol enough. After 5+ years with another broker, I changed to Sol this year and it was a great decision. Super responsive (which was a major pain point with my prior broker), open to digging deeper for a better suited policy and price and just all round helpful and efficient! Thanks so much!

Highly recommend Danielle for insurance purposes. Professional, seamless and no pressure from her in comparison to the larger companies who constantly ring about their quotes. Gives you time to think and work out your best options.
Danielle is friendly but prompt and stays focused on the request at hand. Recommend using Danielle for a personal, 1-1 experience without the pressure and judgements.

Danielle was great to deal with. She made the whole process easy, explained everything clearly, and was always happy to help. Friendly, professional service and I highly recommend.

Welding, cutting, grinding and fabrication work carries exposures most generic trade policies weren’t built around — hot works, high-risk sites, heavy plant and strict principal contractor requirements. Sol Insurance Brokers can help you explore cover options that reflect how you actually work.

Frequently asked questions

Does my policy cover hot works like welding, cutting and grinding?

Hot works are central to boilermaker and welder businesses, so they need to be specifically considered when arranging cover — some policies treat them differently. We’ll confirm how any policy we discuss treats open flame, grinding and cutting work, subject to policy terms, conditions and exclusions.

Working as a subcontractor on mining, power generation, construction and other high-risk sites often comes with specific insurance requirements from principal contractors and site operators. Share those requirements with us and we’ll discuss the options that may be relevant for your business.

Once your cover is in place, we can arrange certificates of currency and help match them to the insurance requirements set out by builders, principal contractors and site operators. Timeframes can vary, so talk to us early — especially before mobilising to a new site.

Subcontractor and labour-hire arrangements can change your exposure. Depending on your business, your policy structure may need to account for them, or you may need to verify their own cover. Talk to a broker about the right structure for your crew.

Tools and equipment cover can include eligible welding equipment, generators and specialised tools, including options for protection while in transit or secured on-site, subject to policy terms.

Personal Accident & Illness cover may be relevant — financial support may be available if an insured accident or illness prevents you from working, with options that can be tailored to eligible business owners and tradespeople. It is not the same as an income protection policy; we’ll explain the difference.

Talk to a broker who understands hot works and high-risk sites, not just standard policy wording.
